I love this book. The story follows a boy and his father as they experience a solar eclipse. Readers will learn a lot without realizing it. Also has a cool ending. The art work is colorful and playful and captures the feelings of the characters. A winner for before or after the eclipse.

I wanted to include a book this week for older readers. I am a big fan of the Scientists in the Field series so this was a natural pick. I love books that show readers how scientists work in the real world. This book goes a little more in depth into eclipses and also shows how scientists go about studying them. The book uses a lot of interesting photos and will keep young readers engaged.
